2018 Tarawera 100k Drop Bag and Kit Plan

The weather for the 2018 Tarawera 100 was pretty miserable, so compulsory kit was announced as a halfway house between lists B and C as shown here.

  • 600ml Camelbak bottle in left front pocket
  • Medkit & emergency gear in back pocket
  • Warm hat and gloves in left rear pocket
  • Arc'teryx baselayer top
  • Outdoor Research Helium II shell
  • Phone and headphones in ziploc bag in front right pocket
  • Food and 360ml soft bottle of water in rear right pocket
  • Toilet paper in a ziploc bag in rear pocket
Eat & Drink:

  • Mountain Dew (only a little bit near the end)

Dropbag Plan
I'm using old race bags for my drop bags, with the labels provided by the race organisers. Unlike the Hillary I feel confident enough in my plan not to have written instructions on each bag!
